The Barbarossa Spot
The tiny room is in the picturesque capital of Kythira, with a nice and relaxing view to the Castle and the sea. The room has a main room with a double bed and a small interior toilet. The room facilities include TV, air conditioning, iron, fridge, safe and hairdryer. The room offers a second bigger private bathroom with a bathtub, exterior to the room. The bathroom’s door is in front of the room’s door. Bed sheets and towels are provided. The studio is in the upper floor, with a nice balcony with sea view.
Kythira has always been a desired island for conquerors and pirates. Settled between Aegean and Ionian sea, it has always been the perfect spot to control the ship traffic.
The Barbarossa room will offer you the view to the Ionian sea and the Castle of Chora.
Barbarossa, the famous pirate, conquered the island during the 16th century. Barbarossa ruined the old capital of the island Paliochora and the legend says that he buried his treasure somewhere. Even if you don’t discover Barbarossa treasures, you will have the opportunity to discover the island’s beauty, the beaches, small villages, folkloric festivals and of course local friendly people.
Chora Kythira is the capital of the island. Walking from the room around the village you will feel the local atmosphere, discover hidden picturesque walkpaths and fossas and admire the heartbreaking view to Kapsali and Chytra. You will find tavernas to eat, coffees and pastry shops to taste local sweets and of course many shops to pass your time before your night drink. Chora Kythira is an ideal place to stay, giving you the choice to visit the rest of the island during the day, and going out during the night.
You will find easily "Niki Rooms" when you arrive to Chora village. Once you enter Chora Kythira , you follow the road to the left, direction to Kapsali. About 250m after that point, you will arrive at "Niki Rooms".
